Allied Battery is making a pointed argument with its new RS Series platform: most lithium golf car batteries on the market are still assembled from separate components that were never engineered to function as a unified system. The RS Series addresses that directly through Allied's Relay Smart System, which combines battery management, cell balancing, sleep mode, app integration, and power controls into a single integrated package built specifically for golf car use.
Several engineering details stand out. The RS Series features a Hi-Performance Relay BMS with a solenoid built directly into the system, eliminating the external solenoids and extra wiring that create failure points in conventional lithium setups. A Dual Power Button system lets owners mount a secondary control button near the charging port outside the battery tray, removing the need to lift the seat every time the battery needs to be powered on or checked. The platform also disconnects all outside discharge during storage, guarding against the parasitic drain that commonly shortens battery lifespan and generates warranty claims.
Inside the battery, Allied says it uses Grade A EV cells rather than the storage-grade cells found in lower-cost competitors — a meaningful distinction given that EV-grade cells are built for repeated charge cycles and higher performance demands. The RS Series also includes an integrated 2A Active Balancer that operates during both charging and discharge, which Allied says corrects cell imbalance up to 80 times faster than passive balancing methods. Built-in Bluetooth connectivity allows owners to monitor charge levels, cell voltage, cycle counts, and overall system health through a mobile app, while dealers can access the OEM dashboard remotely for diagnostics.
On the safety side, Allied incorporated Fire Suppression Technology into the RS batteries. If the system is exposed to extreme heat or fire, it releases a chemical compound inside the casing to reduce oxygen and help protect internal components from further damage. The batteries also feature sealed vertical mount gasket systems for moisture and dust resistance, reinforced internal mounting structures to handle vibration and rough terrain, and built-in drainage protection for wet conditions.
Allied is positioning the RS Series as a solution for dealers looking to reduce installation complexity and cut down on callbacks, as well as for consumers who want smarter monitoring and more dependable day-to-day ownership in an era when golf cars are operating well beyond the golf course.
